“Generations” is a painting about origin, evolution, and what is carried from one generation to the next: experiences, stories, and values.
Inspired by a moment where three generations of one family gathered under a single roof, this work speaks of the layered nature of life – of those who came before us, the traces they leave behind, and the new that grows on this foundation.
Darker zones stand for challenging times, ruptures, and transitions, while brighter and golden areas symbolize those moments in which light, love, and awareness are passed on. In this way, “Generations” becomes a quiet homage to heritage, responsibility, and the deep connection that runs through time.

Technical description:
This 2×2 m large-scale work was created using a multi-layered squeegee technique. Layer after layer of acrylic paint is applied, pulled, reopened, and partially revealed again until a complex surface of depth, openings, and finely tuned transitions emerges.
Broken passages allow earlier layers to remain visible – like fragments of memory that still resonate beneath new experiences. The denser lower area creates a strong base zone, above which more open, luminous passages unfold and make the theme of transmission and development visually tangible.

The canvas is hand-stretched on a custom-made, solid stretcher frame of approx. 4 cm depth. The edges are treated as an independent image zone: chromatically interwoven with the front, with clear movements and both soft and sharper transitions. This gives “Generations” a sculptural presence in the room and not just a flat frontal effect.

Sealed with Swiss high-quality, museum-grade varnish — hand-sprayed in two layers.

Color psychology & spatial effect:
“Generations” combines deep magenta and berry tones with black, white, and gold. The darker passages stand for phases of struggle, crisis, and transformation, while the lighter and golden areas symbolize moments of clarity, success, love, and inner growth.
From a distance, the work appears as a coherent energy field with a strong vertical movement; up close, fine structures, glazes, and layers open up, inviting a slow, exploring gaze.
