Golden Autumn
Artist: Michael-Alexander Stoll
100 × 150 cm – acrylic on canvas – original artwork
“Golden Autumn” is a warmly glowing autumn painting in abstract form: like looking through a window onto a forest of gold and copper tones, where the light moves gently across the surface. The vertical and horizontal structures evoke tree trunks, layers of foliage and streaks of light between the branches – and create that cosy, comforting feeling we associate with a fireplace and late autumn evenings. It is a work that makes rooms feel visibly warmer and more inviting.
Technical description:
This piece was created using a multilayered squeegee technique with acrylics. Overlapping glazes, semi-transparent layers and opaque structures interlock to form a lively yet calm surface. The composition works with a finely tuned grid of vertical and horizontal bands, creating a clear rhythm that emphasises the width of the landscape format and gives the painting architectural stability.
The 3.5 cm deep gallery stretcher frame is fully painted; the edges continue the colours of the front and give the work an object-like presence on the wall.
Colour psychology & spatial impact:
The dominant gold, ochre and copper tones stand for warmth, grounding and a feeling of security. Deeper brown and red nuances lend the work maturity and depth without feeling heavy – more like the glow of embers and autumn leaves. Fine, darker accents create contrast and guide the eye, while lighter, almost yellow luminous passages appear like small islands of light.
In interior spaces, “Golden Autumn” generates a clear, warm, almost fireplace-like atmosphere: it gathers the energy of the room, creates an emotional focal point and gives areas where people meet or spend time together a noticeably welcoming quality.
Recommended placement:
In professional environments, “Golden Autumn” is particularly suitable for reception areas, lounges, conference rooms, executive offices and meeting spaces, as well as high-end consulting and law offices. Its warm palette signals appreciation, continuity and a cultivated atmosphere without being loud.
In private spaces, the work is ideal for living rooms, dining areas, near a fireplace setting, in a library or on a feature wall that can carry a strong yet harmonious presence – for example above a sideboard or sofa.
Price structure and collector value:
The 100 × 150 cm format belongs to the most collected sizes in contemporary abstract painting. It offers enough presence for representative spaces while remaining flexible in placement – from executive offices to residential living areas. Larger formats such as 2 × 2 m operate in their own league and sit clearly above this price level, while “Golden Autumn” can occupy a strong, yet very easily integrable core position within a collection.
Sealed with Swiss museum-quality varnish — hand-sprayed in two layers.
