Between golden surfaces, warm sand tones and fine red accents, a secret is hidden. “008 – The Hiding Woman” carries the tension of an iconic secret-agent universe: a coded title, an invisible protagonist, a stage built from light and structure. Beneath the multi-layered squeegee textures lies the earlier portrait of a woman whose presence can only be sensed in raking light – like a memory that never fully appears and yet permeates everything. Like many remarkable women in this world, she does not reveal herself at first glance: she is present but elusive, mysterious, and only visible in the right light.

The composition is constructed from vertical and horizontal pulls of the squeegee, creating a finely woven network of rectangles, bands and overlays. Warm yellows and ochres meet translucent veils of white, while subtle traces of blue and turquoise act as quiet counterpoints. In the depth of the layers, the silhouette of the original figure remains: viewed from a very shallow angle, one can discern delicate contours and concentrations of paint. This painted-over underlayer creates real physical depth – not only visually, but materially within the canvas. The 3.5 cm gallery frame emphasizes the object character of the work and lets it appear in the room as an art object rather than a flat picture.
