200 × 200 cm – Acrylic on canvas – Original artwork
Valhalla is a storm of color, born from fire and silence – a monumental work that captures the soul of courage. Inspired by the mythic hall of fallen warriors, this painting translates the idea of honor, rebirth, and timeless stories into abstract visual language: a glowing field of red, rust, gold and deep violet that seems to live and breathe with the light.
Valhalla is not a quiet painting; it is a portal – a piece that turns spaces into stages and radiates a heroic, timeless presence.
Professional description:
This 2 × 2 m large-scale work was created using a multi-layered squeegee technique. Layer after layer of acrylic paint is applied, pulled, reopened and condensed until a complex surface of depth, light paths and finely tuned transitions emerges.
At the center of the painting runs a condensed axis of color that suggests a forged, inwardly glowing fire. Around it, tones of rust, red and violet spread out, broken up by intentionally opened passages where older layers remain visible – like traces of past battles and stories.
The canvas is hand-stretched on a custom-made, sturdy stretcher frame with approximately 4 cm depth. The edges are treated as their own visual zone: interwoven with the front, with clearly placed movements, breaks and transitions. This gives Valhalla a sculptural presence and makes it work as an object in the space, not just as a flat wall piece.
Sealed with Swiss high-quality museum-grade varnish — hand-sprayed in two layers.
Color psychology & spatial effect:
Valhalla’s visual world is carried by glowing reds, rust and gold tones that evoke forged metal, torchlight and fire. Deep dark areas give the work gravity and seriousness, while lighter breakthroughs feel like sparks of hope, triumph and inner dignity.
From a distance, Valhalla appears as a closed energy field with a clear, monumental statement. Up close, fine micro-structures, glazes and layered passages reveal themselves, rewarding a slow, contemplative gaze. In high-end interiors, this work does not act as mere decoration, but as an identity-defining centerpiece for the entire space.
Recommended placement:
Business environments: executive floors, strategy rooms, exclusive conference and consulting spaces, high-end showrooms, galleries, premium hotel lobbies and representative reception areas.
Private spaces: generous living areas, open loft architecture, double-height walls or modern villas where the 2 × 2 m format has enough distance and space to fully unfold its impact.
Price structure & collector value:
Valhalla is one of the outstanding large-scale works in the oeuvre of Michael-Alexander Stoll. A 2 × 2 m original belongs to its own collector category – technically demanding, rarely available and with exceptional long-distance impact.
The combination of mythic narrative, multi-layered squeegee technique, the glowing central area and the refined museum-grade surface makes this painting a strong long-term collector’s piece. Valhalla is particularly suited for collectors who do not just want to acquire a painting, but a heroic statement for their space.
